Meg Imperial Admits She Almost Quit Showbiz

Moon of Desire Actress Mary Grace Imperial much known as 'Meg Imperial' recalled her life story from the beginning of her career in show-business where she struggles before she became a star, and how she often accepted to roles with little to no lines just to make enough for her needs, and admits almost quitting show-business.

In an interview on "Tapatan Ni Tunying", on Thursday, May 22, 2014 the 21-year-old sexy actress admitted that she used to earn little as P300 for her roles in various television shows.

"Siyempre, nag-start ako as passerby lang, tapos nagsikap ako hangga't nagkaroon ng roles, lines. 'Yung mga P300 na dati mong kinikita dati, tumataas ng P1,500," she said.

Imperial shared how she bragged about her role as an extra in the hit drama anthology where she earned P300, "Maalaala Mo Kaya",

"Pinagmamalaki ko 'yun kahit passerby lang ako."

The sexy-actress also admitted that there were several times she thought of giving up on show-business because for her career was not playing so good, and her mother even told her to stop.

"Dumating talaga sa point na yun. Na parang hihingi kami sa mga kamaganak namin, hihingi kami sa mga kakilala. And minsan dadating na lang 'yung mga maniningil sa bahay. So lahat tini-try ko. Kasi parang wala ka ng matatakbuhan eh," she said.

"May mga times na sasabihin niya na tumigil na ako kasi walang project eh. Pero pag may tumawag sa amin, go agad. Wala naman masama sa pag-try eh," she added.

Meg Imperial was given a huge big-break in ABS-CBN on 2014 for the drama series “Moon of Desire”, where she plays the lead role.

Meg Imperial is now happy in her new career and she even became popular after appearing in some ABS-CBN shows.

"Before kapag dadaan ka sa hallway ng ABS, walang nagpapa-picture masyado. Pero, after ng first projects ko sa ABS like It’s Showtime, MMK "Maalaala Mo Kaya", okey na po, parang may nakakilala na sa akin… 'Ah, si Meg Imperial 'yan,” she said.
